Po Mahina guitars and ukuleles are handcrafted by Luthier Dennis Lake. His workshop is located between Na'alehu Town and South Point on the island of Hawaii. Every instrument is individually made by a two person Po Mahina operation.
Dennis makes each instrument's body one at a time, hand sawing and carving each neck. As a result his production is limited and each instrument is one of a kind.
Every guitar and ukulele is built for fine sound and excellent playability, as well as beautiful appearance. He uses only solid Koa or other select woods. The abalone and pearl inlay are genuine and all nuts and saddles are bone.
Dennis Lake also provides repair services through Hilo Guitar and Ukulele. You can come meet him once a week to discuss repairs or ask him about his instruments.
